Do you use a pseudonym? Does Google care?

An interesting question was brought up to Google's John Mueller about author names. Does Google know or care if an author isn't using their real name? 

SEO Rountable reported that Mueller tweeted, "Totally up to you — I doubt Google's algorithms would judge the 'real-ness' of author names that you use. Users might though."
